REFUND POLICY

A legal disclaimer

All lessons provided by Game of Cones are offered on the understanding that the learner holds a valid UK provisional driving licence and is legally entitled to drive the tuition vehicle. The instructor reserves the right to refuse or terminate a lesson if a learner is unfit to drive (for example, due to the influence of alcohol, drugs, illness, or lack of required documentation).

While every effort is made to ensure safety and quality of instruction, Game of Cones and its instructors cannot be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation in driving lessons, on or off the public highway. Learners are covered by the instructor’s motor insurance policy while in the tuition vehicle for the purpose of driving instruction.

By booking a lesson, the learner agrees to comply with all school policies, including those regarding refunds, cancellations, and conduct.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Game of Cones, we aim to provide a fair and flexible approach to bookings while ensuring our instructors’ time is respected. Please read the following terms carefully before booking.

Single Lessons

Single lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled for a full refund if at least 48 hours’ notice is given.
If a cancellation is made within 48 hours of the scheduled start time, a 25% charge will be deducted from the refund.

Cancellations made after the lesson start time or no-shows are non-refundable.

Block Bookings (10 Lessons)

Our block booking rate is £350 for 10 lessons, offering a £50 saving compared to paying £40 per single lesson (£400 total).

Booking a block of lessons represents a significant commitment for both the learner and the instructor. When a block is reserved, multiple lesson slots are held in advance — limiting the instructor’s ability to offer those times to other students. Because of this commitment, a stricter refund policy applies to block bookings to balance fairness and protect the instructor from financial loss.

If a learner wishes to cancel part-way through a block:

If 5 or fewer lessons have been completed, a 50% refund will be issued for all unused lessons.
If more than 5 lessons have been completed, a 25% refund will be issued for the remaining lessons.

Refunds are always calculated using the discounted block rate rather than the single-lesson rate.

Example:

Each lesson in the 10-lesson block is valued at £35 (£350 ÷ 10).

If cancelled within the first 5 lessons:
- Example: A learner cancels after completing 3 lessons.
- 7 lessons remain × £35 = £245 worth of unused lessons.
- 50% refund = £122.50 returned.
If cancelled during the last 5 lessons:
- Example: A learner cancels after completing 7 lessons.
- 3 lessons remain × £35 = £105 worth of unused lessons.
- 25% refund = £26.25 returned.

Payments and Refunds

Payment is preferred online at the time of booking.
Approved refunds are usually processed within 5 working days back to the original payment method.

Instructor Cancellations

In the unlikely event that your instructor must cancel a lesson (for example, due to illness or vehicle issues), you will be offered either a rescheduled appointment or a full refund for the affected session.
